Our mission is to transform lives through exceptional educational opportunities and to change the world through knowledge of the highest order. As the fastest rising university in the nation, we have demonstrated the will and ability to succeed.

Great Expectations: the Campaign for Maryland is a landmark effort to raise a record $1 billion in private support, the largest goal ever pursued by a public institution in the state of Maryland and the Washington, DC area. The philanthropic investments of this campaign will provide support to fund student scholarships, recruit and retain top faculty, enhance physical facilities and library and technology resources and reinforce excellence and innovation in academic programs. This support will help make the University of Maryland a truly great research university; an institution with global reach and impact.

We are one of the nation's top-ranked public research universities and behind that achievement is something even greater—the dedication and support of our alumni, students, faculty and staff. Maryland's progress has been remarkable and we are fiercely determined to continue on a path to being the very best.
